OUR HISTORY
Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1937 by Rev. Theo Hayes. After a terminal illness, he was succeeded in Pastorship by Rev. James C Franklin Sr.
Pastor Franklin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Reverend James Franklin, who shared the same name, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. He married the late Olivia Wells in Cottonport, LA and reared five beautiful children. In 1956, the family became members of Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Theo Hayes. In 1975, Rev Franklin was elected the second leader in the Church's history. Pastor Franklin served diligently , while leading many worshipers to Christ. He was a great visionary! Under his leadership of 43 years,the church grew and many improvements were made to the sanctuary.
Rev. James Franklin maintained membership and actively served in the following organizations:

- Missionary General Convention of Texas
- General Bowen District Association Congress
- Evangelistic Board of the Baptist Minister's Union of Beaumont, TX
1933 - 2016 Pastor James C. Franklin, Sr., 83, of Beaumont, TX, departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2016.
